Extensions update for Firefox 1.5b1
I finally got off my ass and updated my extensions for the release of firefox 1.5b1. The only two that gave me trouble are Listzilla and ext2abc, both probably for the same reason… it seems that there’s a new method for handling the extension manager, so until I get that sorted out, they are only compatible for 0.9 to 1.04.
I think one of the main reasons why I haven’t updated them in a while is that I’ve managed to pigeonhole the entire site into developing extensions, and that’s it. I’m going to start including other types of material here as well, just general how-tos and other (hopefully) helpful information for various types of software, hardware… anything, really.
First on the list is a guide to get your windows printer working with a wirelessly-networked Mac laptop. That’s probably the other reason that I haven’t updated in a while… I got an iBook a few months ago and I’m addicted to the damn thing. OS X is a really beautiful operating system, and I haven’t really paid much attention to my windows box since I’ve turned it on.

You may want to look at Mr. Tech’s Local Install (http://www.mrtech.com/extensions/) for your problems with Listzilla and ext2abc, both functionalities are included in the 1 large extension. It would be nice to also have them as individual extensions. Plus I like the way Listzilla formats the lists better than Local Install.

Wow, that thing sure packs a punch, huh? I’ll take a look through it and see how he makes the calls.
I’d recommend Local Install for anyone missing Listzilla / Ext2Abc functionality, it’ll replace both of them and then some. Nice work.

Thanks for the update to bugmenot, one of my favorites (it’s now required for any FF installs I perform for family and friends… :) ). Just a minor nitpick: the release date for 0.7 still says August 20, 2004 — maybe it makes more sense to give the release date of the current version?
Just my $0.02,

Thanks for the comments, HJ.
I forgot to update the release dates, so now it’s taken care of. Good eye, good eye.

Excellent news, Eric. Hopefully you will be able to get listzilla to work with 1.06+
Btw you should update the URL set as Homepage link in the about box.
regards.

Should be set now, phloo.
Turns out to make them both compatible required a one-line change. The old ones used
urn:mozilla:extension:rootand the new one uses
urn:mozilla:item:rootThat’s all they needed.
